Well, Martha Stewart has made my day!
Not only did she and her staff recommend Kiehl’s for their generous free sampling program (in Real Simple magazine), but they also recommend Sephora for similar reasons.
Sephora stores offer generous samples from the more than 150 cosmetics lines they carry. Just ask and a salesperson will hand you a packaged sample or fill jars with requested products for free.
Sounds good to me!
About Sephora’s Free Samples
This type of free sampling appears to limited to in-store samples. Which is fine.
Just know that their policy is quite different online or over the phone…
From the Sephora website:
You will receive a free exclusive sample with any purchase $100 and over. Each purchase is limited to one free exclusive sample. After you have selected one sample online, it will be automatically added to your Shopping Basket and you will see it listed along with your merchandise on the Order Confirmation page.
But it gets better…

All Beauty Insiders will receive a get gorgeous birthday gift from Sephora. You can redeem your birthday gift up to 14 days before or 14 days after your birthday with any online merchandise purchase or at any of your local Sephora stores. I like to help people find clever ways to do things that will save time & money — so I write about "outside the box" Beauty Tips and Beauty Hacks that most people wouldn't think of. With beauty products (like hair care, skincare, and makeup) and personal care items (like teeth issues, body odor, undergarments, and other topics that very few people enjoy talking about)… I share my own honest firsthand experiences that I think others would appreciate hearing about and find helpful. Especially for topics that are usually very "private" and most people don't like to talk about publicly! When I'm not trying new beauty products and organizing all my "stuff", you'll find me at the corner of Good News & Fun Times as publisher of The Fun Times Guide (32 fun & helpful websites).
