artistry-exfoliation-clothI’ve mentioned several times how much I love the facial shammy that came with my Artistry Microdermabrasion Kit.

This facial cloth alone is worth buying the kit for! (The kit also includes a nice microexfoliating cleanser and a fantastic moisturizing cream. But you can get the cloth all by itself if you want.)

If you’ve never tried a face chamois to clean and dry your skin (I hadn’t before this), then you don’t know what you’re missing!

Facial cloths are becoming more and more popular in women’s daily cleansing routines.

Here’s why I love the facial chamois, and why you will too…

Why A Facial Chamois ROCKS!

This type of facial cloth is different from the microfiber towels that are typically used with facials.

It’s much thinner, and the absorbent fibers are super-fine. Technically, they’re ultra-fine! So this cloth really sucks everything out of your pores.

I would compare a facial cloth to a standard chamois cloth (like one that’s used to gently clean and dry your car). Only a face chamois is much smaller in size and higher quality. It’s made especially for the sensitive skin on your face.

How To Use A Face Shammy

You can use a facial cloth in 2 different ways:

  1. Use it to distribute your favorite cleanser (or exfoliation cream) all over your face.
  2. Use it to remove all traces of your cleanser (or exfoliation cream) from your face.

I use it for both.

Sometimes, I’ll alternate between using my Olay brush and my facial cloth to apply cleansers to my face. But, without fail, I always use the facial chamois as the last step to remove all traces of cleanser from my face.

In both instances, the facial cloth gently scrubs your skin while it’s sucking everything out of your pores at the same time.

Trust me, the super-fine threads work incredibly well at cleansing your skin while removing loose, dead skin as well as makeup, oil, dirt, and debris from your pores.

Now here’s my favorite part: During your final rinse with water, you will know when you’ve removed everything within the cloth’s reach because the facial chamois will begin to lightly stick to your skin. That’s the sign that there’s absolutely nothing left between your skin and the cloth. No more makeup. No more cleanser. No more oil, dirt, or debris!

Finally, while your skin and pores are super-clean and cleanser-free, add a little moisturizer and you’re good to go.

I’ve had my facial chamois for almost a year now and it’s still in great shape. It’s showing absolutely no signs of wear. I’m thrilled, because I use it frequently (3 times a week) and I can’t imagine cleansing and exfoliating my face without a cloth like this now.
